  I am assuming that Caroline Lilly in the 1880 census is the same person as Sarah Caroline McMillen, eldest daughter of Thomas and Cynthian McMillan as her birthdate and birthplace and the birthplaces of her parents coincide. Also because she and her family are living very near her mother and other brothers and sisters (Isabelle Kuykendall & Horace McMillan) and their respective families. It would appear that Caroline's eldest son, William, has been sent to live with his grandmother, perhaps to take care of her after the recent death of grandpa Thomas McMillen??
