John Wigard LEVERING (15) was born in 1648 or 1649 in Gemen, Germany. He emigrated in 1685. He died on Feb 2, 1745 in Roxborough, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was buried in on his farm, now LEVERING CEMETERY. He married Magdalena BOKERS in Apr 1674.
1497. Magdalena BOKERS was born about 1650 in Leyden, Holland. She died Summer of 1717 in Roxborough, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She was buried probably near her husband in Levering Cemetery. She was a native of Leyden, in Holland.
Children were:
i. Anna Sophia LEVERING was born in Jan 1675 in Gemen, Germany. She died in infancy.
ii. Anna Catherine LEVERING was born in Mar 1676 in Mulheim, Germany.
iii. Maria Elizabeth LEVERING was born in Jul 1677 in Mulheim, Germany.
iv. William LEVERING Sr..
v. Amelia Anna Sophia LEVERING was born in Jul 1682 in Mulheim, Germany. She died on 5 Feb 1771.
vi. Anna Sibella LEVERING was born in Sep 1684 in Mulheim, Germany. She died on 17 Aug 1764.
vii. Herman LEVERING was born on 18 Nov 1686 in Germantown, Pennsylvania. He died in May 1691.
viii. Elizabeth LEVERING was born on 7 Jan 1689 in Germantown, Pennsylvania. She died in Sep 1703.
ix. Sidonia LEVERING was born on 23 Apr 1691.
x. Jacob LEVERING was born on 21 Jan 1693 in Roxborough, Philadelphia Co., Pennsylvania.
He died in Oct 1753.
xi. Magdalena LEVERING was born on 13 Jan 1695 in Roxborough, Philadelphia Co., Pennsylvania.
She died age 3 weeks.
xii. Magdalena LEVERING was born on 4 Jun 1696 in Roxborough, Philadelphia Co., Pennsylvania.
She died before 10 May 1736.

"John and Magdalena with their first children came to America at the urging of William Penn as he went to Germany to find settlers for Pennsylvania. They came to America on 20 March 1685 and were among the first settlers at Germantown, PA. From there they moved to Roxborough, PA."
