Bill Simpson of California advised that the information on Lorenz is from the Lutheran Church records at Pretzdorf, Oberfranken, Bayern, LDS microfilm 1396486. Records show Lorenz being born 1671, son of M. Crannester (or Cranester) and Margaretha Hoffman. The records have been transcribed to the LDS-IGI and can be found on the IGI Index for Germany on the disks released May, 1996.

Johannes' marriage to Catherine apparently produced 4 children, but all members of the family except Johannes and Johann 'Mathias' died in Germany. Those two arrived in Philadelphia on 5 September 1738 aboard the ship Winter Galley.

Johannes later married Barbara Weidenbach and they raised a large family of 12 children in Adams County, Pennsylvania. They are probably the ancestors of the R.J. Chronister and Samuel Chronister found in the 1880 Census (1% sampling) as living in Pennsylvania of parents born in Pennsylvania.

Immigrated to the United States with his father, Johannes, at the age of 4 years old.

They arrived in Philadelphia on 5 Sept, 1738 aboard the ship Winter Galley.

Mathias and Elizabeth settled in Lincoln Co, North Carolina around 1770s. Later generations moved on to Tennessee and finally settled in Arkansas no later than 1890s (Sidney Monroe). Johann Mathias was born near the Reformed Lutheran Church at Pretzdorf, Oberfranken, Bayern. He was baptised May, 1734.

During the 1750s Mathias is listed as a soldier serving in the French and Indian War (1754-63). In 1761, 1762 and 1763 he is listed on the Cumberland Co., Penn. tax list, living in West Pennsbourgh Township. Mathias and his wife are shown attending the Lower Bermudian Lutheran Church in Latimore Township, York Co.

In 1772 Mathias and his family moved to what is today Lincoln Co, North Carolina. On Jan 25, 1773 he was granted 300 acres of land. Sold it in 1787 to a Michael Buff.
